The story of the acorn.
A grandma tree to her granddaughter tree:
There once was a mighty acorn
Who lived on a mighty tree
Far into the woods her eyes did wander
And yet she knew there was more to see
—
And so she leapt from off her branch
And she quickly hit the ground
Surprised, and then delighted
Her fellow acorns she had found
"Oh no, I'm cracked!" said the newly arrived acorn
"I shouldn't have jumped, I'm a bit of a nut!"
"You are where you are supposed to be," said the grounded acorns
”Now get up off your butt!”
—
"There is space for all of us here", they shared
"And with nourishment, water, and light
Our cracks will open wider
And allow us to release our might"
And so the newly arrived acorn planted her roots
And then opened her arms quite wide
And through the gift of water and light
A sapling appeared from inside
—
That sapling continued to get nourished
She grew roots, leaves, branches
And acorns of her own
Who in turn took the leap
And jumped off the branch
And who too are now fully grown
Inside us all, you see
Exists a mighty tree
And yes, my dear grandchild
That acorn, you see, was me.
